Guide to mobile resources

Databases

EBSCO Host app

This app allows you to search and access published content provided by Ebsco publishers from your mobile. This includes journal titles from our Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, CINAHL and Medline databases. To access full content on your phone you need a key that syncs your phone to local content.

Go to http://search.ebscohost.com and login with your OpenAthens details. Click on the iphone and Android mobile apps link right at the foot of the page. Open the email you receive in the device you want to use and follow instructions.

Ebsco Host mobile

EBSCOhost Mobile  provides seamless access to the EBSCOhost (ehost) or EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) interfaces via mobile devices without the need to download an application.  Simply access your library's EBSCOhost resources from a mobile device and a mobile-friendly version of the site will display. If you would prefer to use the available app for iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad and Android, you will find links to download it from iTunes and Google Play, authentication instructions, and links on online Help pages that describe how to use the app.

NICE Evidence Search

Search for freely available reliable evidence on the web using the mobile version of this search engine.

Pubmed mobile

Pubmed mobile allows you to search the medline database from your mobile device.


Guidelines apps

NICE BNF/BNFc Mobile Apps

Download the BNF app to your mobile device and then sign in with your NHS Athens account to access the latest BNF/BNFc on the go.

NICE Guidance App

If you use an Android or iPhone smartphone you can download the free app, which will give you offline access to all of NICE's guidance products, organised by clinical or public health topic.

SIGN Guidelines App

View latest guidelines from Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network. Patient information apps on Autism also available.


Journals

Many of the Journals available to NHS staff can be accessed and viewed on mobile versions of the publishers platforms. This allows you to view, save and email articles to yourself so you can access information quickly and easily on the go. It is also a useful way to keep up to date with latest issues of specific titles.
